Technical Trainer

The Technical Trainer, Heavy Equipment will provide valuable support to our Technicians and our Customers through top technical expertise on our Caterpillar Product Line, in addition to developing and delivering industry leading technical training for Heavy Equipment.

Train both Toromont technicians and our customers' mechanics Deliver classroom, shop and video conference training on Caterpillar equipment. The trainer can reside anywhere within the Toromont territory and must travel regularly to our branch locations and customer worksites. Between assignments, the trainer can work from the nearest branch or from their residence if it is suitable for office work Develop training content according to established Caterpillar standards, participate in the analysis of training needs and contribute to the maintenance of training equipmentMust-haves for this role:
A vocational diploma or valid license (421A) in heavy duty mechanics combined with a minimum of 5 years experience as an equipment technician is required. Candidate experience should extend beyond maintenance, parts replacement and visual inspection. Candidates should have solid expertise in calibration and diagnostic processes and tools Communication skills are essential. In order to convey knowledge, the trainer must be attentive and focused on the group. Motivated and autonomous, candidates must work professionally with a minimum of supervision Candidates should be comfortable using office software such as PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Video conferencing, etc. Successful candidates will have a deep working knowledge of engine, hydraulic, electrical and transmission systems.
