City Experiences is seeking a Line Cook for our City Cruises operation in Gananoque.

About the Opportunity:
The Line Cook is responsible for assisting the kitchen team to prepare food items in line with the menu and daily features. The Line Cook will contribute to the guests amazing experience by ensuring all food is prepared and served in a timely manner. Essential qualifications for this position are basic cooking skills, safety regulations knowledge, customer service, time management, and the ability to stand for long hours.

Provide exceptional hospitality to coworkers and guests as prescribed in our RESPECT Service System. Responsible for the proper safe food handling and sanitation procedures in a timely manner in a fast-paced high-volume environment. Clean, peel, cut and cook a variety of meats, fish, vegetables and starches. Prepares menu items for roasting, broiling, grilling and sautéing. Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Ability to prepare all food from raw to finished state, rotating of stock, receiving orders, and storing product. Follows recipes, portion control, and presentation specification as set by management. Restocks all items as needed throughout shift and clean/maintain kitchen and service areas while practicing good safety and sanitation skills. Greets guests in a professional, friendly, and approachable manner. Responsible for maintenance and cleaning in the respective sections including but not limited to food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables. Operate dish machine; ensures all dishes are cleaned, organized, and stored appropriately. Ensure that dishwasher is in proper working order; responsible for routine cleaning of equipment and refilling chemicals as needed. Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and buffets or food stations. Test and document dish machine temperature and sanitizer daily. Exhibits a team approach, willing attitude, and a positive approach towards assisting fellow co-workers. Adheres to all health and safety regulations. Works with a safety mindset by following all safety policies, procedures and safety measures ( PPE). Identifies and brings forward risks, hazards and opportunities on the job. Actively participates in health and safety in the workplace. Maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (refer to appearance standards in employee handbook) Reports to work on time and for all scheduled shifts. Understands all City Cruises’ policies and procedures relating to the employee’s role within the company. Accepts training and guidance on a continuous basis. Passes along best practices and techniques to fellow crew members. Be timely for scheduled shifts, taking personal responsibility for timecard. Maintain shift specific uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards. Any other duties as assigned by department supervisor or manager on duty.Requirements & Qualifications:
or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education. One (1) year of kitchen experience preferred. Hospitality or Culinary schooling is considered an asset. Food Handlers Certificate is required. Basic mathematical skills. Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others. Will be required to be available for work on weekends, evenings, and all major holidays. Strong organizational, multitasking, and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced work environment. A positive attitude and good work ethic. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms). Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods. Continually and repeatedly perform functions indoors and outdoors. If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) ( non-slip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection).About Us:
