Manager, Work Integrated Learning

What you will do:
Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Operations, the Manager, Work Integrated Learning is accountable for managing the placements/paid work terms for all programs with a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component in the Faculty of Media & Creative Arts (FMCA). The incumbent ensures that appropriate procedures are in place and followed by staff and students, oversees the overall operations of the Work Placement Office to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, participates in yearly strategic planning, and provides consultation around policy development related to the WIL component of the FMCA’s curricula. In addition to ongoing development, PT staffing, student advising, curriculum development, marketing, and planning special events, the Manager will engage in a variety of special projects undertaken by the Faculty of Media & Creative Arts as required.

What you bring to the role
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required (Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources, Leadership). Training in Human Resources or a related discipline would be an asset.
Experience and Skills:
The incumbent will have a minimum of 5 years professional experience. The incumbent will have recent experience working in a fast-paced, post-secondary cooperative education, internship or other experiential education program. Experience with student professional development, knowledge of workplace standards, recruitment and hiring practices, and performance management techniques gained through a role in co-operative education or internship programs.
