London, Canada East of England Ambulance Service Full time

Great healthcare requires great people. That’s why we are doing everything we can to recruit committed, skilled people – and to make sure we support our new and existing employees, so they choose to stay with us.

#WeAreEEAST

We encourage you to ensure that your application relates to the Person Specification (provided as part of the Job Description or as a separate attachment).
Please visit our recruitment support page for advice on completing your application.

Job overview

EEAST is looking for a social media/Relationship Building/External Events Officer for the Men's Wellbeing Network.

Applications should be submitted as an Expression of interested, via the Apply Online link below

Main duties of the job

The Media & Events Officer will have responsibility for supporting the following functions:

Fostering links between the East of England Ambulance Trust Service and similar providers within Health who share the same vision. Being aware of all events and networking opportunities within the East of England area that the network can link to. Linking in with external events providers and representing the DSN and EEAST AMB Provide support to colleagues linking men with mentors or role models Co-ordinate a limited number of social events around the activities of the group for members of the network and other colleagues within the Trust

The Group may invite such persons it deems necessary to its meetings for contribution to specific agenda items.

Working for our organisation

The Men’s Wellbeing Network (MWN) group is designed to support improved experience and to promote equality within the workplace with a focus on gender issues impacting men’s wellbeing at work - a safe space for men and those who identify as men to share experiences and talk about issues around their mental wellbeing.

The stereotype that men have to be strong macho types, affected by nothing, and the protectors of their families, has perpetuated a culture of reluctance to express any concerns for their own mental wellbeing, a refusal to ask for help and, a reticence to engage with health services. The attitude, perception, or belief that any ‘imperfection’ is a sign of weakness is a cause for concern.

The network’s executive sponsor Dr Hein Scheffer, Executive Director Strategy, Culture and Education, shares a few words on this momentous launch of the network.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Our aims

The main aim of MWN is to promote and champion inclusion of all staff with EEAST.

MWN will provide support and empower men to achieve their full potential. MWN aims to encourage, enable, and facilitate change within EEAST. MWN believe that by tackling men’s mental health and wellbeing the Trust can be a better place to work and provide better patient care and experience to the communities we serve. We look to harness the power of our men to promote social inclusion, change perceptions and influence policies.
