Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff various positions in Vancouver, Nanaimo, Campbell River, Courtenay, BC.

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience:
Experience analyzing complex issues and providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management on complex programs, policies, or issues.
Experience consulting and/or collaborating with Indigenous groups, stakeholders, co-management agencies or other levels of government.
Experience managing or coordinating a program or projects related to resource management.
Experience in developing, interpreting, analyzing, or implementing legislation, regulations, policies, or procedures.
Experience in the preparation of briefings (written and oral), reports, presentations or correspondence for senior management

Education:
Master's Degree or Post-Graduate Diploma in a field related to the position, such as commerce, biology, ecology, natural or aquatic resource management, economics, or other specialization relevant to the position.

Experience:
Experience representing your organization on a working group or committee.
Experience researching or working on marine mammals or marine mammal management issues.
Experience managing human resources.
Experience managing financial resources.
Experience with natural resource management, marine conservation, or marine spatial planning.
Experience analyzing and interpreting scientific information
Experience with fisheries or aquaculture management.
Experience with salmon management.
Experience with economic analyses relating to natural resources.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of marine mammals and/or marine mammal management issues.
Knowledge of the fisheries and/or aquaculture sector in British Columbia, including issues, stakeholders, and management.

Operational Requirements:
Willingness and ability to travel
Willingness and ability to work overtime on occasion, including weekends.
