Responsibilities
• Familiar with digital logs.
• Responsible for operating commercial vehicles on construction sites in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
• Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by AFL policies and procedures.
• Perform pre-shift inspections, change attachments, lubricate, and refill equipment while performing other site duties as assigned.
• Properly reports any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures.
• Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent and coworkers.
• Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required.
• Perform other site duties or functions, consistent with status or vocational ability as may be required from time to time.
• Ensure a safe work environment for our people, clients, subcontractors, and the public.
• Represent AFL to the public in a manner that is consistent with corporate values and goals.
• Lead by example.
• Adhere to and promotes the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications
• 1+ year of construction experience
• Low bed experience required
• Experience in Utility Construction – ASSET
• Ability to travel to various site-based projects as required
• Hyrdo Vac

Working Conditions
• Physically demanding workload
• Work location: Work in locations that preclude the ability to return home
• Work hours: Shift work (Weekend work is part of shift rotation)
• Traveling is required

Minimum Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class 1 Driver’s License or Valid class 3
• Clean 5 year commercial driver’s abstract.
• Previous Telecommunication/ OSP experience is an asset
