Responsibilities
- Familiar with digital logs.
- Responsible for operating commercial vehicles on construction sites in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
- Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by AFL policies and procedures.
- Perform pre-shift inspections, change attachments, lubricate, and refill equipment while performing other site duties as assigned.
- Properly reports any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent and coworkers.
- Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required.
- Perform other site duties or functions, consistent with status or vocational ability as may be required from time to time.
- Ensure a safe work environment for our people, clients, subcontractors, and the public.
- Represent AFL to the public in a manner that is consistent with corporate values and goals.
- Lead by example.
- Adhere to and promotes the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications
- 1+ year of construction experience
- Low bed experience required
- Experience in Utility Construction - ASSET
- Ability to travel to various site-based projects as required
- Hyrdo Vac

Working Conditions
- Physically demanding workload
- Work location: Work in locations that preclude the ability to return home
- Work hours: Shift work (Weekend work is part of shift rotation)
- Traveling is required

Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License or Valid class 3
- Clean 5 year commercial driver’s abstract.
- Previous Telecommunication/ OSP experience is an asset
