POSITION SUMMARY :
This position will be responsible for day to day activities around distribution of YourTV programming.
The incumbent is responsible for monitoring of all incoming and outgoing signals, and ensuring integrity of all YourTV content.
The incumbent will oversee configuration of distribution equipment (servers, data links, storage) and be responsible for solving all related technical broadcast activities during their shift.
This position will require an individual with strong experience in IT network configuration as well as strong experience in Master Control environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Playback of recorded and live programs on air as scheduled in automated playback software including all public service announcements and promotional material. Grooming of playlists to ensure all material is available and will run without incident.
Monitor and ensure all secondary record events are completed and available in storage.
Sourcing missing content with appropriate station representatives.
Following workflow for the receipt and ingestion of recorded material to Central Storage.
Monitor and complete transfers between iTX/ADC and SGL archive.
Monitor and ensure file transfers through the Contribution Network/ Synology FTP
Ensure any deviation of playlists is reported to Scheduling and noted in the As Run log as well as the Broadview scheduling log.
Monitor playback for Quality Assurance adhering to Production Standard reporting any production issues to the Broadcast Manager as well as the originating station’s management.
Monitor and ensure all CRTC loggers are functioning.
Maintain a tidy/professional workspace in Central Master Control.
Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

They must use available personal protective equipment as required at all times, and comply with all Health & Safety instructions, guidelines, policies and procedures issued by the Company.
To support Cogeco’s ultimate goal of providing excellent service to current and potential customers, the incumbent must be constantly attentive and responsive to both external and internal customers’ needs and assist in the resolution of any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner while ensuring that the solution meets the customer’s needs.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC TRAINING
College Diploma or combination of equivalent education and experience.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1+ year related experience in television production is required.
Minimum 1+ year experience with Television automation systems, video switchers, audio mixers, distribution equipment, calibration and testing equipment.
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Proficiency with file management, encoding and transcoding of media content.
Advanced computer & keyboarding skills with demonstrated skills in media asset management.
Strong customer service and relationship management skills are required
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
Ability to learn and assimilate new information, and apply it correctly to on-going work issues, is required.
Strong ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines,is required.
Ability to maintain a positive consistent relationship with management, co-workers and customers (internal & external).
Work closely with internal personnel and external partners to solve hardware/software issues and other technical issues.
Ability to resolve conflict situations in both external and internal customer service situations, is required.-
Detail orientation, accuracy and thoroughness, with well- developed organizational skills, are required.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative to identify and resolve problems independently while still recognizing the impact on others, is required.
Ability to monitor own work for quality is required.
Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems using established procedures, policies, and guidelines, is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND VISUAL ACUITY
Required to lift heavy weights up to 20 kg and stand for extended periods of time.
Possess valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License.
