Payroll Administrator

We are offering a contract to permanent opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in the non-profit industry, based in Whitby, Ontario. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be tasked with executing accurate payroll processes for all employees, managing relevant documentation, and responding to payroll-related inquiries. This role involves the use of various software such as PeopleSoft and involves a significant amount of data analysis and reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process payroll for all employees on a timely basis
• Utilize PeopleSoft software and Workforce for time tracking and labor entry
• Handle documentation related to payroll remuneration and deductions, ensuring the correct allocation to accounts
• Detect and rectify discrepancies in time capture and remittance through PeopleSoft queries
• Perform analysis and reconciliation of various payroll reports to ensure alignment with budget allocations
• Prepare non-system generated payments and manage the recording and reconciliation of manual payments
• Ensure accurate payroll deduction remittances to appropriate third parties or government agencies
• Oversee year-end processing and reporting activities related to payroll
• Track and calculate payroll-related information in compliance with system requirements, policies, and legislation
• Provide support and respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.contract
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Payroll Administrator role or similar position
• Proficient in using payroll software, specifically About Time and PeopleSoft.
• Strong asset to have current , valid PCP designation
Experienced in processing payroll, including for unionized staff.
• Ability to reconcile payroll to ensure accuracy.
• Familiarity with benefit functions as they relate to payroll.
• Capable of performing payroll-related duties in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
