The City of Abbotsford’s Operations division is seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as a temporary full-time Health & Safety Assistant (Operations) to cover a 12 to 18 month leave.

In this challenging role you will provide administrative and technical support to ensure compliance with safety program requirements. You will develop technology solutions, administer training programs, and perform general clerical duties and special projects.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Facilities & Operations, the successful candidate for this position will create and maintain annual health and safety review programs, track compliance, and operate safety tracking applications. You will assist in delivering training programs, schedule trainers and maintain training records. In addition, you will assist with new safety tracking projects and maintain intranet content.

The successful incumbent will have strong organizational and time management skills, considerable knowledge of relevant computer software applications and database management, and excellent communication skills including the ability to work effectively as a team member.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

Completion of a Diploma in Administration, Computer Technology or Health and Safety Minimum of two years administrative experience working with health and safety programs using advanced software features, enterprise software solutions and complex computer database applications

This position is unionized, CUPE Local , and the hourly rate of pay is from $31.39 to $36.92.
