Job Description
The SCIENCES and Hatching Ideas Lab is seeking a part-time 0.6FTE Clinical Research Assistant II to join our mental health research team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, energetic, and will be involved in both evidence synthesis and the treatment of a variety of mental health conditions.
Day-to-day activities will involve conducting systematic reviews using DistillerSR (including screening and data abstraction), assisting with funding applications, preparation of manuscripts (including referencing, formatting, and proof reading), preparation of presentations and other administrative tasks. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
Education/Certifications:
•Secondary school diploma.
Employment Experience:
•1+ years’ experience in a clinical research environment; previous experience with evidence synthesis is an asset.
•Experience with EndNote reference manager software.
•Experience preparing manuscripts (formatting, referencing) and presentations.
•Experience with funding submissions.
Personal Qualities:
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
•Excellent organizational and time-management skills required to coordinate multiple activities to meet tight or changing deadlines.
•Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills required to deal with unexpected situations or issues.
•Flexible and cooperative spirit with a strong commitment to team efforts.
•Outcome-driven with the ability to work independently or minimal supervision, including working from home.
Other Skills/Qualifications:
•Excellent computer skills (MS Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
•Experience with systematic review platforms (e.g. DistillerSR, Covidence).
•Proficiency with reference manager software (EndNote) is an asset.
•Knowledge of funding submission platforms (e.g. ResearchNet) an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Demonstrated experience with systematic review software (DistillerSR, Covidence) preferred.
