Purpose and Scope

Apply skills and detailed technical knowledge of Comtek’s products and processes to drive business development with new customers as well as expanding on existing customer accounts.

Maximize opportunities to cross-sell products and services at each account by communicating benefits in a professional and knowledgeable manner.

This position requires a strong ability to develop new customer relationships of trust and respect while maintaining excellent relationships with our existing customers.

Responsibilities

Achieve annual department goals for assigned direct sales accounts as agreed with Senior Business Development Manager at the start of each fiscal year. Implement and follow the Comtek Sales Process for all direct sales activities. Develop sales leads on a regular and disciplined basis. Qualify all prospects to ensure the best opportunities are identified and pursued. Present a Comtek solution to those prospects that are considered a high potential to purchase. Participate in business development activities with duties and responsibilities as assigned including: Attendance at trade shows including planning, attendance, set-up and display maintenance. Public Relations and promotional activities and events in coordination with other Comtek personnel. Development of marketing literature, brochures, price lists and promotional items. Develop information transfer packages to allow supporting departments adequate input into the sales process, and to ensure that business development efforts are linked to production. May also include regular sales forecasting activities Lead an interdisciplinary team to produce comprehensive production concepts, cost models, and business cases based on early customer data. Occasionally and as needed, perform project/program management responsibilities to lead a multi-disciplinary team through development and onboarding of new products and services. Support Comtek’s global network of distributors to maximize sales through these channels. Comply with all company guidelines regarding company expense accounts, timekeeping and reporting. Manage subordinate Technical Sales Representatives if/as required. When required additional roles and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the Senior Business Development Manager

Organizational Relationships

The position will involve frequent interaction with other members of the sales team, particularly Senior Business Development Manager, Business Development Manager (MRO), Director, Sales & NPI, Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Customer Service Representatives, as well as interaction with Engineering, Operations and Quality Assurance personnel.
