National Account Manager
As a National Account Manager (Retail or Food Service), you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers in the food industry. Your primary goal is to maximize sales opportunities, drive revenue growth, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, and product development, to meet customer and business needs and achieve sales targets.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Relationship Management:
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned key accounts.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, understanding their business needs, goals, and challenges.
- Conduct regular meetings and communication with customers to provide updates, address concerns, and identify new opportunities.
- Actively listen to customer feedback, gather market intelligence, and relay relevant information to internal teams.
- Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and actively seek new customers in the food industry.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Present product offerings and value propositions to customers, highlighting their unique benefits and advantages.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to secure profitable deals.
- Account Planning and Forecasting:
- Develop account plans and sales forecasts in collaboration with the sales management team.
- Set clear objectives and action plans for each account to maximize sales growth.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement or potential risks.
- Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts, revenue projections, and market insights to assist in budgeting and planning processes.
**Cross-functional Collaboration**:
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, supply chain, operations, and product development, to meet customer needs and deliver exceptional service.
- Work with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted promotional activities, campaigns, and events.
- Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products and resolve any customer-related issues.
- Provide feedback and insights from customers to contribute to product development and improvement efforts.
- Manage and lead Sales Coordinators.
**Customer Satisfaction and Support**:
- Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional service.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with customers to assess satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide product training and support to customers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and resources to utilize products effectively.
- Serve as an advocate for customers within the organization, representing their needs and priorities.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field with relevant experience in the food industry.
- Proven experience in sales or account management roles in the food sales industry.
- Strong knowledge of the food industry, including market trends, regulations, and customer preferences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.
- Strong sales acumen and the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, identify patterns, and drive data-informed decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools, such as Famous, Streamline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Results-driven attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets.
- Flexibility to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
