Salary:
Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

About the job:
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Leader, Health Information Management (HIM) Initiatives, oversees various region wide projects and initiatives throughout Interior Health. The Leader works closely with leaders across Interior Health and external to the organization to facilitate ongoing collaboration and effective implementation of projects and initiatives that support Interior Health, HIM and MOH initiatives.

The Leader applies innovative approaches regarding issue management, process improvement and system integration to carry out the duties and responsibilities. Leads projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes within the portfolio ensuring improvements are structured and delivered in a timely manner with measurable targets for improvement. Anticipated outcomes of the work will require systems-thinking and creativity in problem solving to facilitate consensus-decision making. The Leader works both independently and as part of a team.

In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions.

Typical duties and responsibilities:
•Provides project leadership to the HIM portfolio through planning, development and implementation of comprehensive Project Management Plan(s) while ensuring regional alignment and meaningful collaboration with relevant internal and external partners.

•Directs all activities for assigned projects. Monitors project and/or system change progress through development of evaluative tools and organizational systems, processes, and practices to support quality practice and learning environments.

•Develops and implements processes for managing the preparation and maintenance of all status reports utilizing essential project documents (charters, reports, briefs, comprehensive project plans, etc.) on behalf of the HIM portfolio with input from key partners.
•Builds collaborative relationships with key partners to achieve shared goals and deliverables aligned with planned future service delivery models, including input into business case development and standardized reporting and information sharing.
•Provides research support for best practice and change management initiatives to support improvements. Analyzes and prepares information to achieve results in key priority areas identifying barriers and missed milestones while researching issues and related mitigating strategies.
•Ensures timely and effective communication and implementation of assigned projects and related decisions. Facilitates change by collaborating with the Clinical Operations, Medical Leadership, and Digital Health teams in the development of implementation plans, data/info requirements, performance evaluation measures, quality improvement methodology and communication and engagement strategy to successfully implement projects and initiatives.
•Supports the composition of decision briefs and reports at the site, local health area, and Health Authority levels.
•Assists with developing budget, or monitoring expenditures, or variance analysis and reporting for projects.
•Plans for patient engagement strategies where applicable to ensure patient views are considered in service planning.
•Creates communication plans and communicates and presents information clearly and concisely to key partners, physicians, staff, and managers including formal presentations at meetings.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
