Salary range for the position is $113,195 to $162,718. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact:

The Director, Privacy and FOI is responsible for providing strategic direction, guidance, and leadership to Senior Executives, Directors, Managers and all IH staff on: auditing electronic systems; compliance with laws, regulations and IH policies; FOI. This role is the organization's subject matter expert on compliance and FOI activities in a healthcare environment and innovatively and continuously improves and evolves the core operations and mandate of the team and represents IH on relevant Provincial and internal committees.

What will you work on:

•Leads and engages in strategic planning for the Privacy and FOI team, to optimize compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, government policies, conformance and industry standards.

•Represents the organization regarding various Freedom of Information and privacy issues and liaises with appropriate facility, peer, regional, Ministry of Health, and medical staff to build and maintain effective interdisciplinary, inter-site, and inter-organizational relationships.

•Responsible for the management, content development, and oversight for the employee training programs related to privacy and compliance.

•Develops and monitors an annual budget for the privacy and FOI functions. Responsibilities include monitoring budget performance, planning, and adjusting operations or staffing to meet projections and annual targets; approving expenditures and preparing summaries for fiscal reporting. Liaises with Finance on budget matters.

•Responsible for staffing functions including recruitment, hiring, ongoing development, and performance management, including disciplinary action and termination as required.

•Performs other related duties as assigned.
