Salary range for the position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
How will you create an impact:
The Spiritual Health Lead (SHL) works in a team-based environment to support regional-wide spiritual health best practice.
The SHL collaborates with a wide range of individuals and groups within and outside IH to lead the development, management, and communication of region-wide initiatives to support and enhance the quality of spiritual care delivered throughout the region. The SHL engages in an IH-wide perspective to provide leadership and clinical support to spiritual care practice and education initiatives across the sectors and portfolios. The SHL assists with the standardization of spiritual health services from a regional lens.
In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately.
What will you work on:
•Engages in an IH-wide perspective to provide leadership in providing comprehensive spiritual health care and emotional support services to individuals, their families and friends, staff, physicians, and volunteers in a manner that is appropriate according to their expressed wishes or belief systems and respectful of religious and cultural diversity.
•Contributes to consultation to staff, physicians, and volunteers on spiritual health matters and acts as a liaison during crisis intervention.
•Liaises with indigenous partners, spiritual, religious, and cultural groups in the community to facilitate provision of religious rites, rituals, and services for clients requiring faith specific support.
•Leads and participates in the development and implementation of effective health authority wide provision of spiritual health care clinical and educational practices. Collaborates and consults with IH decision-makers, external resources, and clinical staff.
•Reviews and evaluates the organization’s spiritual health services effectiveness. The duties may also include participating in research, policy development and strategic planning.
•Develops, enhances, and supports spiritual health care practice networks to promote sharing of knowledge, monitoring of practice trends, and identification of opportunities to promote innovation and partnerships with indigenous partners, staff, physicians, volunteers, and community of faith representatives.
•Participates in the care delivery, as required. Documents clinical assessments, interventions, and referrals in a way that is understood by members of the inter-disciplinary team.
•Represents spiritual health services at internal and external meetings or committees as assigned by the Director Professional Practice, Allied Health.
•Participates in the development of effective policies, procedures, and standards for spiritual care. Under direction from Professional Practice Office implements changes toward improving the delivery of the program.
