UA787- DATA CENTRE OPERATOR III

This is on-site position in Guelph for Day Shift on a 3 Day Schedule (12 Hour) 

Qualifications:

A seasoned Data Centre Operator with extensive experience and excellent understanding of Critical Environments and the impact of human factors on Uptime. Full understanding of the site specific maintenance policies and procedures (SOPs, MOPs EOPs) as required to maintain the facility to the requirements Uptime Tier IV.

Under specific direction, performs Operations & Maintenance (O&M) preventive maintenance inspections on mechanical, electrical and automatic temperature control equipment using results oriented strategies to ensure continuing operation. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures Identifies and lists replacement, repair and/or recalibration action required by service mechanics. Works independently without the need for additional direction or supervision.
 

5 Years Data Centre environment experience preferred.  Minimum 5 years’ experience in physical plant operations, HVAC and other related equipment. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, ability to work efficiently under pressure.  Must hold the qualification of a Data Centre Operator I and II with the additional qualifications/qualities. Certificate in HVAC, Mechanical Millwright or Electrical trades required Holder of a current Ontario Trades License Experience in large scale building operations and maintenance is preferred. Working knowledge of environmental, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems, including DDC systems. Ability to make effective technical decisions in emergency situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. Highly motivated, strong client focus, independence, resourcefulness and flexibility.

Scope:

Work shall include all the duties of the Data Centre Operator II and the following additional duties but not necessarily be bound by the following:

Perform the scheduled preventive maintenance and general maintenance on the mechanical/electrical systems. Complete the corrective actions arising from preventive maintenance and breakdowns.  Maintain inventory of spare parts and CMMS system. Provide excellent customer service to tenants. Respond to customer service calls and follow up action. Ensure that contractors comply with contractual requirements. Monitor the environmental and protection systems for buildings. Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation, guidelines, standards, policies, procedures and practices.
