The successful candidate will collaborate with healthcare professionals, ensure patient comfort, and produce diagnostic images that support accurate clinical decisions.Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and small parts imaging as required.
  • Evaluate images for clarity, accuracy, and diagnostic quality, and provide preliminary observations to radiologists.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Document findings and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with organizational and provincial standards.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in sonography and imaging techniques.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent.
  • Active registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Member of Sonography Canada with Canadian credentials or actively pursuing credentials through the Canadian Clinical Skills Assessment (CCSA).
  • Proficiency in a variety of sonographic examinations, including general, vascular, and obstetric imaging.
  • Preferably 1–2 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics and cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide empathetic patient care.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Work Environment
  • Hospital or diagnostic imaging center setting.
  • May require standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility.
  • Shift work, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
