American Iron and Metal, (AIM) is a growth-oriented metal recycling and processing company located in Saint John, NB. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Full-time Truck and Trailer Technician to join our team.
We are looking for someone who is a motivated, tenacious, eager to learn and take on a challenge.
Job Description
Profile
Reporting to the Foreman, the Truck and Trailer Technician will work on electrical, hydraulics, brakes & suspension. This position will expose the candidate to a wide variety of interesting service & repair tasks.
Responsibilities
- Service modern equipment including material handlers, loaders, bobcats, forklifts, manlifts, shuttle wagon, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance as per service schedule
- Keep the workplace clean and organized
- Perform any other related duties.
Qualifications
- Experience working safely in a heavy industrial setting.
- Job requires working indoors, outdoors, exposure to the elements
- Proficient in welding and torch cutting a must.
- Able to conduct and complete scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks and checklists
- Able to complete work orders and ensure any parts that are used are documented for reordering.
- Eager to learn the proper operation and diagnostic capabilities of state-of-the-art equipment.
- Able to work independently and stay focused and on-task.
- Able to prioritize urgency based on production requirements.
- Able to stay on task past regular scheduled hours to ensure completion.
- Heavy Equipment experience would be an asset
- May accept 4th year apprentice

Employment Conditions
Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday
- Possibility of overtime
- Availability for last minute urgent repairs;
- Uniform, PPE and Boots are provided
