Responsibilities

As Student Awards Coordinator, you will provide program and administrative support to NSCC's student awards and financial aid programs, coordinating the promotion, application, selection and distribution processes with a particular focus on our award partnership with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency (NSAA). You will liaise with the NSCC Foundation as required to coordinate various reporting aspects of the student awards program. This role will support the delivery of in person/online student workshops, information sessions and assist students in the application process of student awards as well as provide other services and supports applicable for recipients of NSAA designated awards opportunities. You will also respond to questions from students and influencers regarding student awards and financial aid programming, serving as first point of contact for the Student Awards office. Every aspect of the work requires strict adherence to NSCC policies and procedures, as well as Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) policies and privacy regulations.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Office Administration or Marketing combined with a minimum of three years' recent and related experience in communications and/or program administration in a fast-paced office environment. Occupational experience in the following would be considered an asset:Previous work in a post-secondary education setting, particularly in the area of student awards and/or financial aidProficiency using the PeopleSoft system You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite and E-mail. Experience using Blackbaud awards management software would be considered an asset. You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
