Junior Analyst (Promotions Analyst)

Position Summary:

Promo Analytics the incumbent is responsible with weekly P&L and Compliance reporting. Supporting Manager, Merchandising and promotions, the incumbent creates and transmits promotional events communications for stores. The incumbent also oversees the co-ordination of various order generations and exception lists, run reports and maintain spreadsheets and promotional calendars.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Maintains and updates compliance and forecasts databases to protect data integrity and ensure accurate and current information is available as required.
· Support Manager, Promo Analytics with day to day P&L reporting, data gathering and cleaning.
· Oversees weekly promotion frequency reporting and communications to Category Management team to ensure compliance of all promotions..
· Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting and data analysis with understanding of retail business processes and products
· Support all data extraction, management and integration initiatives
· Provides weekly support to the Manager and Sr. Director in preparing / updating financials and layout information for the weekly Ad Meeting
· Liaises with Category Management and Marketing Teams for Tier One Marketing Flyer events. Responds / resolves any issues / discrepancies throughout the planning process.
· Creates event flyers and other promotional materials to provide clear and accurate direction at the store level.
· Support Category Management, Business Analytics, and the Promotions Team in maintaining / approving promotions in our Flyer Forecast Tool and Flyer Layout Tool.
· Maintains spreadsheets and calendars and distributes to various departments to ensure accurate updates are exchanged including Flyer event codes
· Creates and coordinates promotional events and liaises with Category Management to ensure promotional event transmissions are accurate and concise.
· Maintains order exception lists and runs various reports to develop future promotional strategies and provide relevant data as required.
· Liaises with Supply Chain, Inventory, Category Management and Promotions Teams on respective changes.

Skills, Knowledge & Education:

Skills:
· In-depth knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel is required.
· Basic understanding of SQL for MS Access, TeraData or other relational data base is preferred
· Knowledge in VBA programing for Excel / Access / Outlook is preferred.
· This position requires a demonstrated level of initiative and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects. Courtesy, tact and diplomacy
· Requires an understanding of inter-related work processes to be able to adapt to differing assignments.
· Provides routine information to coordinate the assignments and work procedures of others.
· Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with clients and associates including senior management.
· Draws on a number of known options to solve problems and to develop improvements.
· Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
· Understanding of merchandising, promotional practices and procedures.
