Job Description

Reporting to Senior Management, the Quality Control Specialistwill be responsible for ensuring that all projects/renovations meet the highest standards of quality. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that products are procured at the best pricing terms internationally and locally and that inventory levels are maintained within company. This role will work closely with the regional team in all cities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Internal Auditing

Responsible for quality reporting/auditing renovation projects for all regionsAssess if Regionals are completing projects and inspections on a timely basis and provide updates to Senior Mgmt.Complete full portfolio assessments on a regular basis and ensure all areas are following Mainstreet standardsConduct on-site meetings with Regional’s and Area Managers, outlining the assessment findings & provide recommendations.Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality controlEnsure that all required inspections, schedules and paperwork are updated as requiredReviewing blueprints and specifications on large capital projects to ensure it complies with legal requirementsOversee production stages on large capital projects to uphold consistent quality standardsMeasure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actionsConduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify any deviations or non-conformities. Plan, schedule and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with established procedures and regulations. (MEQ, WorkSafe, OHS)Assess workplace safety hazard assessments and ensure they coincide with work sites when conducting inspections and provide feedbackCreate floor plans or measure suites during inspections to verify square footage and ensure proper sq. ft is reflected in YARDI

Supervision Received

The Quality Control Specialist works under the general direction of VP Operations; Able to work independently as well as contribute actively and collaborate openly as a team member. 

Requirements and skills

Possess post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent work experiencePrior experience in Quality Management and assessment is considered an assetMulti-Family Residential Rental Industry experiences beneficialGood interpersonal and time management skillsKnowledge of MS officeOrganized with the ability to prioritize and multi taskAttention to detailEffective communicationAbility to travel up to 30% of the time
