We are currently seeking a Transfer Pricing Senior Manager to join our tax practice in Toronto or Vancouver. We are looking for an individual who is committed to a career in taxation and has the desire to take a lead role in managing tax engagements and contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients.
Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and cross border investment and compliance. We are interested in meeting candidates with experience in any of these areas.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Transfer Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement transfer pricing policies that align with the business objectives of multinational clients while ensuring compliance with Canadian and international regulations. Analyze intercompany transactions to determine appropriate transfer pricing methodologies, pricing structures, and documentation requirements. Advise clients on transfer pricing implications of business restructurings, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Transfer Pricing Compliance: Oversee the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation, including local files, master files, and country-by-country reports, to support compliance with Canadian and international regulations. Monitor changes in transfer pricing regulations and guidelines, ensuring timely updates to transfer pricing policies and documentation. Assist clients in responding to transfer pricing inquiries and audits from tax authorities, providing expert analysis and support as needed. Intercompany Transactions: Evaluate the arm's length nature of intercompany transactions, including tangible goods, intangible property, services, and financing arrangements. Conduct benchmarking analyses and economic analyses to support transfer pricing methodologies and pricing decisions. Collaborate with clients to develop and implement intercompany agreements that accurately reflect the terms and conditions of related-party transactions. Risk Management: Identify and assess transfer pricing risks associated with intercompany transactions, including potential exposure to tax adjustments, penalties, and double taxation. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate transfer pricing risks, including advance pricing agreements (APAs), mutual agreement procedures (MAPs), and other dispute resolution mechanisms. Provide proactive guidance to clients on transfer pricing best practices and risk mitigation strategies. Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to multinational clients, providing expert guidance on transfer pricing matters and supporting their global tax planning efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax, finance, legal, and operations, to address clients' transfer pricing needs and deliver integrated solutions. Communicate complex transfer pricing concepts and recommendations to clients in a clear and concise manner, tailored to their specific needs and objectives.What’s in it for you?
