Responsibilities- Maintain and analyse product costing and related variances for the Stratford and Fergus operations.
- Review BOM’s and monthly inventory transactions for accuracy.
- Maintain cycle count system and follow up on significant variances.
- Responsible for developing the proposed changes to the standard material, direct labour and overhear rates.
- Responsible for developing the proposed manufacturing budget as part of the annual Plan process.
- Coordinate and complete the annual cost roll.
- Work with other departments to maintain accurate manufacturing costs and inventory.
- Create and distribute reports that monitor the manufacturing activities against forecast, Plan and prior year.
- Work with other departments to identify, develop and implement improvements to the product and manufacturing costs.
- Assist with the monthly accounting period close activities with timely and accurate reporting thru journal entries and analysis of variances to Plan & forecast.
- Thorough knowledge of cost accounting using a standard cost system
- Experience developing financial manufacturing reports and metrics
- Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Knowledge of SAP an asset.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Conversant in French an asset
Ideal candidate would possess a CPA with at least 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
