Job description

We are looking for dynamic consultants to grow our Life Science Team in Toronto . Your experience, knowledge, and commitment will help us to face our client's challenges.

You will be supporting different projects through your expertise as a Pharmaceutical - Bioinformatics Scientist.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on bioinformatics data analyses and troubleshooting of bioinformatics pipelines
  • Implement innovative algorithms for minimal residual disease and cancer early detection
  • Collaborate with wet-lab scientists and bioinformaticians to develop new assay methodologies
  • Work with external collaborators of Roche and provide bioinformatics support for them
  • Present and communicate team activities/project results across multiple functions in the organization

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 6 years of experience
  • Documented experience with sequencing/genomic data analysis (NGS), especially in the area of high-throughput sequence analysis
  • Proficient in general bioinformatics tools including tools for sequence alignment, variant analysis, and database queries
  • Proficient in Python and R
  • Proficient working in a Linux HPC environment
  • Hands-on experience in workflow management system (e.g. Nextflow, Snakemake)
  • Working understanding of biological concepts and experimental methods commonly used in molecular biology and interest to learn more
  • Excellent communication, advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills; Responsible and reliable, goal and task oriented
