**Job description**:
We are looking for dynamic consultants to grow our **Life Science Team** in **Toronto**. Your experience, knowledge, and commitment will help us to face our client's challenges.
You will be supporting different projects through your expertise as a **Pharmaceutical - Bioinformatics Scientist.**
**Your main responsibilities**:
- Provide hands-on bioinformatics data analyses and troubleshooting of bioinformatics pipelines
- Implement innovative algorithms for mínimal residual disease and cancer early detection
- Collaborate with wet-lab scientists and bioinformaticians to develop new assay methodologies
- Work with external collaborators of Roche and provide bioinformatics support for them
- Present and communicate team activities/project results across multiple functions in the organization
**Qualifications**:
- 4 to 6 years of experience
- Documented experience with sequencing/genomic data analysis (NGS), especially in the area of high-throughput sequence analysis
- Proficient in general bioinformatics tools including tools for sequence alignment, variant analysis, and database queries
- Proficient in Python and R
- Proficient working in a Linux HPC environment
- Hands-on experience in workflow management system (e.g. Nextflow, Snakemake)
- Working understanding of biological concepts and experimental methods commonly used in molecular biology and interest to learn more
- Excellent communication, advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills; Responsible and reliable, goal and task oriented
