**_ ROLE OBJECTIVE_**

Accelerate data-driven decision making within the organization and enhance patient and health care stakeholders experiences with Takeda Canada by operationalizing advanced analytical techniques, such as AI, machine learning and statistics. Deliver tangible results that support decisions in a cross-functional setting while keeping the patient at the core of day-to-day activities. Shape the roadmap and growth of advanced analytics within the organization through an enterprise mindset and strategic vision.

**_ KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES _**
- Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to identify and prioritize unmet needs and use cases that can be addressed with analytics techniques.
- Recommend and develop solutions to the use cases that leverage advanced analytical techniques such as data mining and visualiation, statistics, and machine learning (e.g. recommendation engines, image processing, natural language processing, and deep learning).
- Partner with technology and digital teams to deliver solutions that are scalable and user-friendly
- Manage project delivery from beginning to end by leveraging appropriate project management approaches and high-quality machine learning pipeline development and documentation.
- Drive adoption of solutions through change management, user-centered design, and clear value demonstration.
- Co-create and evolve the Canadian data science roadmap and operating model with the Data & Insights Lead
- Actively participate in the regional analytics community and center of excellence by both contributing and leveraging best practices.

**_ SKILLS and LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES_**

**Critical Skills and Competencies**
- Technical/Functional Expertise
- Hands-on experience with data mining and visualization, machine learning, and statistics. Experience with Market Mix Modeling statistical models and recommendation engines are an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL)
- Ability to implement end-to-end pipelines through Databricks ML environment. Experience with RStudio, Dataiku, ABBY and Linguamatics are an asset

- Ability to tell a compelling story and communicate technical concepts with plain language that both data professionals and business stakeholders can understand and action.
- Collaboration
- Able to effectivel partner with diverse stakeholders across departments with varying levels of analytics understanding to identify and prioritize their needs
- Strong project management abilities to lead initiatives involving multiple stakeholders from concept through to adoption
- Innovation & Leadership
- Demonstrate visionary thinking to effectively drive organizational change and continuous innovation in the areas of data science and machine learning

**Preferred Experience and Education**
- At least 3 years of hands-on working experience as a Data Scientist or similar role
- M.Sc. or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics or other relevant degree
