Position Summary

The Driller will operate a Directional Drilling machine and drive the support vehicle (s) used to transport this equipment to various project sites. This is a unionized position with benefits and pension.

Unionized position

$36.00-39.00/Hour, Benefits, Pension, Vacation, as well as lots of room for growth

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Load, transport and unload directional drill equipment and tools in a manner that is secure and damage-free Complete a daily inspection of equipment prior to commencing work • Prepare the drilling fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing In conjunction with a locator, operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and/or duct

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum 1-3 years of experience in drilling Valid Class A driver’s license with an ‘Z’ endorsement Previous experience working around existing buried utilities Must be fully proficient with Book 7 Must have previous experience and be proficient in the operation of a directional drill and associated locate set Ability to read and understand utility locates Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment Will work in all weather conditions, day, night, or weekend with possible overnight stays Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) prior to employment commencing Able to operate heavy equipment ( mini excavators,backhoes) Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety training as per legislative and job
