Job Summary

The Driller Operator will be responsible for operating a Directional Drilling machine and transporting equipment to various project sites. This is a unionized position with benefits and pension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, transport, and unload directional drill equipment and tools securely and damage-free.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections prior to commencing work.
  • Prepare drilling fluid based on site conditions before boring commences.
  • Operate the directional drill with a locator to place cables and/or duct.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in drilling.
  • Valid Class A driver's license with a 'Z' endorsement.
  • Previous experience working around existing buried utilities.
  • Fully proficient with Book 7.
  • Previous experience and proficiency in operating a directional drill and associated locate set.
  • Ability to read and understand utility locates.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Will work in all weather conditions, day, night, or weekend with possible overnight stays.
  • Must provide a clean driving record prior to employment commencing.
  • Able to operate heavy equipment, including mini excavators and backhoes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willingness to receive applicable Health and Safety training.
