Driller Operator

The Driller Operator will be responsible for operating a Directional Drilling machine and transporting equipment to various project sites. This is a unionized position with benefits and pension.
Key Responsibilities- Load, transport, and unload directional drill equipment and tools securely and damage-free.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections prior to commencing work.
- Prepare drilling fluid based on site conditions before boring commences.
- Operate the directional drill with a locator to place cables and/or duct.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in drilling.
- Valid Class A driver's license with a 'Z' endorsement.
- Previous experience working around existing buried utilities.
- Fully proficient with Book 7.
- Previous experience and proficiency in operating a directional drill and associated locate set.
- Ability to read and understand utility locates.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Will work in all weather conditions, day, night, or weekend with possible overnight stays.
- Must provide a clean driving record prior to employment commencing.
- Able to operate heavy equipment, including mini excavators and backhoes.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willingness to receive applicable Health and Safety training.
- Salary Range: $36.00-$39.00/hour.
