About the work environment:
Peoples Group offers a flexible work environment with a combination of in-office and remote from-home work options for our employees. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start & end times. This position involves additional hours during quarterly reporting and from time to time in urgent situations.
We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.
About you:
You are a seasoned regulatory compliance contributor who is ready to take a leap into a high volume, highly entrepreneurial and innovative organization in the Fintech & banking space.You are a pro at advising and managing regulatory compliance for new lines of business. You do so quickly and with quality. Through management of your team and your responsibilities, you leverage control systems in order to verify business adherence to applicable laws, regulations and network requirements. You are a natural partner to internal and external stakeholders, and you create an environment where compliance is part of the solution and has a stake in evolving how to do business.

About the qualifications:
You have 7+ years of experience in advisory compliance in financial services (or Big 6 in the FI Compliance/Risk Advisory practice). At least 3 years of experience in the payments sector and/or Fintech working with and partnering with Canadian regulators (e.g., OSFI, FCAC, FINTRAC). Post secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., Accounting, Business). You excel at advising and managing regulatory compliance for new lines of business. You have extensive policy writing experience particularly OSFI B-10 and E-13. Experienced payments product specialist with strong knowledge of the Canadian and International market including Networks (e.g. Mastercard and Visa) for credit, debit & prepaid card together with global money movement as well as EFT/ACSS, Lynx, Interac Bulk, Payments Canada RTP, EDI, etc., and other emerging payment trends. Understand all Legal, Regulatory, and Rules for relevant markets, ensuring payment product compliance with all relevant regulations and risk management policies. Work with internal business partners to ensure product suite meets evolving regulatory, compliance, legal, and internal policy requirements. Experience working with payments platforms, such as I2C. Highly motivated, self-starter who can operate with a high degree of autonomy.About the day-to-day:
Lead, motivate and develop 2-4 direct reports through ongoing performance development. Manage control design, perform risk assessments and provide regulatory advisement for new lines of business. Monitor and manage testing activities to ensure the compliance of regulatory and operational processes of Peoples and its external partners (Ie: KYC and Network compliance testing; terminal requirements; payment transfer activity). Manage PCI (Payment Card Industry) - DSS (Data Security Standards) and conduct validation exercises and activities. Respond to investigation incidents/requests from the networks, manage/lead the investigation of matters and issues to point of resolution. Partner, advise and educate internal business partners on compliance requirements for products and business needs in their space. By leveraging your skills and your team, prioritize, organize, and manage up to 100 projects and deliverables on an annual basis.Annual Compensation:
Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary and discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $150,000 and $170,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities & experience that the chosen candidate possess.
