Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee daily operations in Deposit and Remittance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with our policies and procedures. You will lead a team in resolving issues, preventing problems, and implementing countermeasures. Additionally, you will supervise opening and closing deposit accounts, verify transactions, and manage wireroom maintenance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day activities, ensuring accuracy and ongoing compliance with Bank's policies and procedures.
  • Timely resolution of issues or problems impacting processing, compliance, or service delivery to clients.
  • Proactively work to prevent problems and develop and implement countermeasures, including changes to procedures or enhancements to control.
  • Verify, approve, and manage SWIFT incoming, outgoing, and book transfer payments and messages in GPP and SAMH systems.
  • Supervise opening and closing deposit accounts, posting transactions, clearing cheques, and issuing cashiers' orders.
  • Troubleshoot problems in close consultation with VP MTD.
  • Custodian of wireroom for the Bank, including RMA maintenance with Banks.
Client Experience:
  • Act as a focal point of contact for Front Office regarding MTD operations-related matters and queries.
  • Maintain high-level customer service; support and coordinate with Front Office, Treasury, TLA, Finance, ITD, and Transaction Banking teams.
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:
  • Handle filing of regulatory reports relating to the area of operation in a timely manner and with utmost accuracy.
  • Manage FINTRAC message repair and reporting through Navaera system.
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank of Canada, OSFI, Payments Canada, FINTRAC, and other regulatory agencies' rules relating to the area of operation.
Staff Management:
  • Assist in guiding, directing, and evaluating the work and performance of MTD Specialists.
  • Train and develop staff, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Make recommendations to VP MTD for system enhancements, productivity improvement, and efficiency in Deposits and Remittance area.
