The Role

As the Health & Safety Advisor , you will play a critical role in fostering a safe and compliant workplace by providing support to managers and supervisors. Your primary focus will be to ensure they have the tools, resources, and guidance needed to maintain a safe work environment for their teams. You will collaborate closely with managers, supervisors, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) to develop, implement, and maintain effective health and safety programs. By conducting regular safety audits, leading risk assessments, and offering continuous support, you will empower our leaders to uphold a strong culture of safety across all departments.

Who You Are

You are a proactive and dedicated safety professional with a strong commitment to fostering a culture of safety and accountability. You excel at building relationships and working collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. You understand the importance of providing managers and teams with the tools and resources they need to create and maintain a safe environment. You are skilled at holding yourself and others accountable for safety standards, and you promote a sense of ownership among all employees for maintaining a safe workplace. Your experience in health and safety, combined with your strong communication and leadership skills, allows you to effectively guide and influence others.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a health and safety role in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
