Job Summary:

The Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Advisor will be responsible for the administration and support of the health, safety, security and environmental programs for DP World Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of standardized HSSE systems, programs, policies, training, campaigns and programs to prevent injury and ensure compliance with regulations and DPW standards.
  • Collaborate with the DP World Australia team to standardize HSSE processes across the organization.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans aligned with the regional strategy and DPW requirements.
  • Audit HSSE programs to reduce loss, recommending and implementing actions for improvement.
  • Create a network of internal and external alliances to implement policies, programs, procedures, standards, training and processes.
  • Ensure incident prevention/abatement through detailed injury and incident reporting, data analysis and investigation compliance.
  • Support Safety Programs between all operational terminals as required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Post-secondary training in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences/Hygiene or similar field.
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role with experience coordinating Safety and/or Environment Programs; prior experience working in an industrial and/or unionized environment is an asset.
  • Willingness to take initiative to solve problems and a desire to identify process improvements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and achieve buy-in and ownership to quality standards/initiatives with all departments and levels.
  • Sound judgement and analytical thinking that enables decision-making, ability to manage projects and prioritize and manage timelines.
  • Self-starter with a positive, hands-on approach and the ability to work as a team member.
  • Exceptional computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Fluent in English. Previous Australian work experience or experience working directly with Australian industries.
