About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor - Risk Prevention to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our HSE team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement HSE Plans: Collaborate with project managers to understand project goals and objectives, and develop effective HSE plans to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Audits: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement controls to prevent incidents.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to employees, clients, and stakeholders on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor and Report Incidents: Monitor and report incidents, near misses, and hazards to ensure prompt action is taken to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination on HSE matters.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in a related field, preferably in construction or a similar industry.
  • Intermediate to senior level experience in an HSE role, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field, such as environment, health, and safety.
  • Professional designation such as CRSP, CHSO, or CHSC would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
