Base pay range CA$110,000.00/yr - CA$120,000.00/yr We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial controller to oversee the finances for a firm that focuses on outsourced accounting services. They are a dynamic and forward-thinking firm that specializes in providing online bookkeeping services, fractional controller and fractional CFO services to a diverse client base. Dedicated to leveraging technology and innovation to streamline financial processes, they help clients achieve their financial goals. Key Responsibilities Client Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships and understanding their unique financial needs. Meet with clients periodically to discuss financials and ensure that the client expectations are met. Accounting: Oversee the monthly close process, delivering accurate and timely financial statements and KPI reports. Ensure all regulatory deadlines are met. Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financials, dashboards, and board packs for clients using tools such as Power BI. Conduct variance analysis and make regular updates to financial models. Audit/Review Support: Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and manage them to ensure that the review/audit progresses effectively. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all the tax authorities like CRA and Revenue Quebec including preparing and filing GST/HST returns. Maintain compliance with banking and other reporting obligations. Advisory: Provide financial insights and recommendations to clients. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficient workflows and best practices within the accounting department. Leadership: Help develop the skills of more junior staff members by acting as mentor and providing training.
