**POSITION**: Assistant Controller, CI Financial

**LOCATION**: Toronto (M5J 0A3)

**STATUS**: Full-time

**JOB OVERVIEW**

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Assist with the preparation and review of CI Financial’s consolidated financial statements, enhancing disclosure and controls over the financial reporting framework as defined in NI 52-109
- Oversee the preparation of the non-consolidated financial statements of the companies in the Asset Management Segment
- Co-ordinate the month-end close and the gathering of financial results from the various global subsidiaries, ensuring information is accurately entered into the financial accounting system and prepared in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP
- Research technical accounting guidance and prepare IFRS memos for quarterly and annual audits
- Ensure deadlines for month-end close and financial reporting requirements are met in accordance with accounting policies and standard operating procedures/controls
- Create and enhance monthly financial reports and analysis for senior management
- Co-ordinate the annual audit process for CI Investments and its subsidiaries
- Assist in the implementation of SOX 404 and on-going maintenance of internal controls
- Monitor banking activities and maintain relationship with the bank
- Assist with the calculations of the purchase price allocation for acquired entities
- Evaluate and optimize current business processes and systems
- Assist with the conversion to a new accounting ERP system

**WHAT YOU WILL BRING**
- Post-secondary education and CPA designation, 5+ years of progressing accounting experience, preferably in a publicly traded company and/or in the financial services sector
- Very strong background in IFRS, multi-company consolidation, business processes and ICFR
- Motivated to work cross-functionally in a role that requires a solid working relationship with leaders across the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic setting while maintaining accuracy and delivery against deadlines
- Experience implementing, documenting and testing ERP systems
- Experience with Workday general ledger system desired
- Analytical and modeling skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data
