People like youJob DescriptionCanroof Corporation Inc. (CRC), a Company of IKO Industries Ltd., is hiring a Production Operator to work in Brampton, Ontario, due to business growth. Employees will operate production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing plant while following health, safety & environmental requirements and producing products as per quality specifications. Employees will operate high-speed machines, handle workplace chemical, perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and practice good housekeeping. Employees will operate motorized equipment.Key Responsibilities:Operate production equipment in accordance with established operating proceduresDocument production numbers, items contributing to down-timeAbility to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular, daily basisAdhere to safety policies, programs, proceduresEnsure product being produced meets established quality specificationsDocument quality checks at regular intervalsOperate counterbalance, propane-powered forkliftGeneral housekeeping dutiesAdditional duties as assigned by Supervisory staffQualifications:Experience in heavy-industrial manufacturing, construction, or similar industry preferredMust have 2-3 years solid experience operating production equipment in a team-based environmentComfortable with working in a high decibel environmentComputer knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internetManual dexterityAttention to detailFluent in verbal and written English; Math proficiencyForklift experience an asset; training will be providedPhysical Requirements:Ability to safely perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds on a routine basisComfortable with standing for extended periods of timeMust be able to work at heights and in confined spacesOther Requirements:Selected candidates must be fit-tested for N95 mask; Must be clean-shaven and wear N95 throughout the shift when neededHard hat must be wornShortlisted candidates will take an IKO aptitude testSuccessful candidates will undergo police criminal check, reference check and pre-placement medicalFlexible to work day and night shift rotation; 10-12 hour each shiftBenefits of Employment: IKO recognizes that its success is due to the strength of its employees.
