Job Overview: This role will oversee and manage various aspects of project controls and operations within the organization, Which includes monitoring project performance, identifying risks and opportunities, implementing project management systems and tools, and improving overall business operations. The role requires supporting and guiding other departments, ensuring efficient project execution, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage current project control functions, ensuring all processes, procedures, and systems support efficient execution.
  • Develop and implement project control policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry best practices and company standards.
  • Implement and maintain project management information systems (PMIS) such as Procore and other necessary tools to support project planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the company's QA/QC program with senior leadership to improve project execution.
  • Monitor and analyze project performance, identify risks, issues, and opportunities, and develop action plans to address these challenges.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices and process improvements to enhance project controls and operations efficiency.
  • Setting up initial budget estimates in Procore and managing monthly budget adjustments throughout the project cycle.
  • Prepare reports to track item status for various Procore tools such as RFIs, coordination issues, submittals, deficiencies, change orders, invoices, etc.
  • Develop weekly/monthly project reports and/or project dashboards as required for project managers, clients, and/or senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes or innovate business operations using existing or new applications.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic initiatives related to project controls, contributing to the organization's overall growth and success.
  • Roll out new Procore features and update training materials accordingly.
  • Test new Procore features to ensure enhancements meet business requirements and project control policies.
  • Support and troubleshoot any Procore issues, engaging with relevant internal/external teams to document and correct said issues.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff on project control principles, providing guidance and support for professional growth and development.
  • Support developing and implementing training programs for project controls and staff, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Liaise with department managers to determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants, making the appropriate recruitments if necessary.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in project controls, guiding their implementation within the organization.
  • Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and professional associations to stay current with best practices and emerging project controls and operations trends.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of Five years of experience in project controls and operations within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience with project management information systems (PMIS) such as Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of project control principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP) are an asset.
