We are seeking a seasoned Independent Business Analyst Consultant to lead and support cross-functional initiatives for public and private sector clients. Thisrole is ideal for experienced professionals with a track record of diagnosing business challenges, shaping strategic solutions, and enabling measurable transformation. As an independent consultant, you will operate autonomously or within a consulting team, working directly with client stakeholders to uncover insights, deliver actionable recommendations, and facilitate execution. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Analysis & Business Diagnostics ·Conduct operational and market assessments to identify business challenges and strategic opportunities. Use frameworks (SWOT, PESTLE, etc.) to inform decision-making. 2. Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation ·Engage with cross-functional teams and executives to gather requirements, align priorities, and lead collaborative workshops. 3. Business Requirements & Documentation ·Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and specifications, ensuring alignment from strategy to execution. 4. Process Improvement & Solution Design ·Analyze current-state processes and design future-state models to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, and enable automation. ·Help define KPIs and performance metrics to track impact and ROI of implemented changes. 5. Project Support & Change Enablement ·Support implementation through planning, risk assessment, and stakeholder readiness. Contribute to communications and change adoption strategies. 6. Independent Advisory & Reporting · Deliver objective recommendations, develop executive reports, and provide interim consulting leadership as needed. Tools & Methods Commonly Used Analysis: Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL Methodologies: Agile, Waterfall, Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking Frameworks: TOGAF, BABOK, Business Model Canvas, Balanced Scorecard Qualifications 5–7+ years of progressive experience in business analysis, management consulting, or strategy. Proven experience leading initiatives in at least 2–3 industries (e.g., agriculture, healthcare, public sector, financial services, technology, utilities). Strong generalist consulting skill set: problem-solving, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking. Demonstrated ability to work independently with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in tools such as MS Office, Visio, Miro, Lucidchart, or similar. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Economics, or related field (MBA or equivalent an asset).
