Human Resources Administrative Assistant Closing Date: Until Suitable Candidate Found Position Status: Full Time The Organization Métis Crossing is Alberta’s first major Métis destination where we share and celebrate the Métis culture with all people The Lodge and the Gathering Centre at Métis Crossing are special blends of comfort, culture, and Métis history. The Cultural Gathering Centre is the base for all our cultural and educational programs. The Lodge offers a Bistro for coffee and express breakfast, as well as a Lounge for cocktails and light snacks. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the HR Consultant and the HR Manager. Assist in the recruitment process including job postings, screening, reference checks, and on-boarding. Support orientations and training sessions as required. Lead human resources related grant applications and administration. Contribute to the development of human resources policies, compensation, and benefits programs. Provide administrative support in the employee performance review process. Draft memoranda, correspondence, reports, proposals, job descriptions, and other employment documentation. Maintain accurate, up-to-date personnel records. Responsible for maintaining all HR related files. Present a positive and professional image of the organization. Provide administrative support in the development of health, safety, and wellness policies and procedures. Create and maintain the organizational Records Management Structure. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High level of attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize requests, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Computer literate with Microsoft Office programs. Experience working with diverse teams. Preferred Qualifications Human Resources Certificate or Diploma. 1 – 3 years of experience in a Human Resources Department. WHMIS and basic First Aid. Knowledge of Alberta history and cultural diversity. Proficiency in a second language is an asset. Other Requirements Ability to work at Métis Crossing in Smoky Lake. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed. Must have a Class 5 Driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must provide a Clear Criminal Record Check.
