Base pay range CA$45.00/hr - CA$45.00/hr Job Title: Server Specialist (Intermediate–Senior) Location: Edmonton, AB (Hybrid – Tues–Thurs in office, Mon & Fri remote) Duration: 3 Months (Strong possibility of extension) Rate: $45/hr T4 or $52/hr Inc. About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Server Specialist (Intermediate–Senior) to join our IT Infrastructure team in a hybrid role based in Edmonton. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and enhancing our server and cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency across enterprise-level environments. Key Responsibilities: Manage, maintain, and support servers in both cloud (Azure) and on-premises environments. Administer Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025) and various Red Hat/Ubuntu Linux distributions. Support server virtualization using VMware and Hyper-V for both server and desktop deployments. Design, implement, and manage disaster recovery solutions leveraging hybrid cloud infrastructure. Lead infrastructure migration projects from on-premises to hybrid cloud DR environments. Utilize scripting languages to automate routine tasks and enhance operational efficiency. Manage and monitor Office 365 services, including Teams and Exchange Online. Maintain cybersecurity best practices, applying frameworks, threat detection, and mitigation strategies. Work with storage and network technologies to ensure optimal infrastructure performance. Monitor infrastructure health using enterprise monitoring tools and automation platforms like Azure Automation or Ansible. Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in enterprise environments. Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5–7+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level servers and related infrastructure in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments. MCSA/MCSE certifications are an asset. Red Hat or other Linux certifications are an asset. Proven experience in large-scale enterprise environments (experience with small business environments only will not be considered). Technical Skills: Microsoft Windows Server (2016–2025) administration Office 365 (Teams, Exchange Online) Disaster recovery planning and hybrid cloud implementation Scripting and automation (Azure Automation, Ansible, etc.) Cybersecurity frameworks, threat detection, and mitigation Storage and network technology familiarity Infrastructure monitoring tools Working Conditions: Hybrid work model: Tue–Thur in office, Mon & Fri remote.
