The Role

Reporting to the VP Capital Projects & CI, the Manager of Capital Projects will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of various projects within the organization. Efficient execution of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations and upward reporting to senior management are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each project’s lifecycle. The Manager of Capital Projects will have a key role ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans and budgets ranging from strategic planning initiatives to tactical activities.
  • Evaluate opportunities for improvement in Technology, Mechatronics/Robotics, Production Operational Efficiency, Safety, Quality and enhanced Customer Value.
  • Coordinate project teams and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential problems and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Communicate project progress and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization to allocate resources and implement strategic plans.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for project team members.
  • Develop and implement best practices for project management, construction safety and SOP’s for new equipment and technologies.

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechatronics or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management, construction, and engineering in a leadership role.
  • PMP or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while ensuring high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of related building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and US.
