**The opportunity**
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Capital and Facilities Asset Management is responsible for developing and executing long-term and annual facilities strategies for the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg.
- Managing capital plans, infrastructure upgrades, and deferred maintenance projects.
- Project manager for the construction and design of childcare centres, Camp Stephens, and Community Hubs.
- Overseeing equipment procurement and maintenance.
- Facilities security, emergency plans, and property leases, acting as a liaison with municipal leaders.

**Responsibilities**
**Strategy & Planning**
- Develop and implement strategies for maintaining, upgrading, and expanding Y Winnipeg facilities, ensuring alignment with community and organizational needs.
- Create and oversee capital asset and project plans, managing all phases from planning to operational handover.
- Provide strategic insights and regular reports on capital and asset management to support organizational goals.
**Operations**
- Implement schedules and procedures for preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with health, safety, and accessibility regulations.
- Address operational issues in building management and maintain consistent standards through audits and contractor engagement.
- Oversee building operations and asset management for Camp Stephens, ensuring environmental compliance and effective team leadership.
**Finance**
- Develop and monitor capital and operational budgets, ensuring alignment with financial sustainability and organizational priorities.
- Centralize lease management and negotiations for childcare centers and external partnerships.
- Contribute to the overall financial sustainability of the Association through strategic planning and expense monitoring.
**Human Resources**
- Cultivate a diverse, inclusive, and healthy workplace environment, fostering professional growth and development.
- Manage all aspects of HR for operations staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, and workforce planning.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and provide motivational leadership and mentorship.
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in engineering, architecture, business management or project management.
- Demonstrated experience and financial acumen will be considered in lieu of education
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certifications in asset management is desirable
- 10 years’ progressive advancement in operations or facilities management
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting
- Experience in contract negations and management, and with RFP and RFQ process for construction/renovation projects
- Experience in large scale equipment procurement and construction oversight
- Expert knowledge of regulatory building compliance and safety codes and building and maintenance operations
- Expert knowledge of meeting environmental legislation for water systems and wastewater treatment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Well-developed diplomacy, negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Strong decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills
