Role Overview Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist – Full‑time at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC. The primary focus is comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients up to 18 years old, with significant responsibilities in hospital admissions, multidisciplinary collaboration, community integration, and educational mentorship. Location Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada – a vibrant city of 100,000 residents surrounded by natural beauty and extensive recreational opportunities. Key Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric assessments and provide evidence‑based treatments for children and adolescents (0‑18 years). Lead clinical care during admission to the new child & youth psychiatric unit, ensuring continuity and high‑quality care. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, pediatricians, and social workers to develop integrated treatment plans. Engage with community partners (family physicians, pediatricians, community mental‑health services) to expand care networks. Provide clinical leadership, revise protocols, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Mentor medical trainees, residents, and students in child & adolescent psychiatry. Qualifications Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Completed residency in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or Family Medicine with post‑graduate training. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to adolescent‑friendly care. Experience or interest in community‑based mental‑health collaboration is preferred. Compensation & Benefits Estimated total remuneration: $420,000 – $620,000 per year, combining fee‑for‑service, sessional contracts, and MOCAP level 2. Vacation leave with flexible scheduling. Relocation funding: $9,000 (BC), $12,000 (Canada), $15,000 (outside Canada). Active physician privileges at Royal Inland Hospital and access to a multidisciplinary support team.
