Adult Psychiatrist – Full-Time Join the expanding Psychiatry department at Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and the renowned Hillside Acute Psychiatric Centre. This hybrid position offers 0.6 FTE at RIH and 0.4 FTE at Hillside, providing a unique blend of inpatient, outpatient, community and academic responsibilities. Overview Royal Inland Hospital is a 273‑bed tertiary referral centre in Kamloops, BC, serving a population of 250,000 and offering a full range of diagnostic and surgical services. The Hillside Acute Psychiatric Centre is a 44‑bed regional adult and geriatric facility with a provincial neuropsychiatry program. Both sites are located on the same campus, enabling seamless collaboration. Responsibilities Provide inpatient psychiatric care in the 26‑bed RIH unit. Conduct consults to medical, surgical and emergency departments. Lead community‑based programmes: Early Psychosis Intervention, Intensive Case Management, ACT, and Substance Use Services. Deliver assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for adult and geriatric patients at Hillside. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, neurologists and psychiatrists. Participate in teaching medical students, residents and fellows; support research and academic initiatives. Engage in leadership development through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program. Qualifications Board‑certified psychiatrist with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Strong clinical skills in inpatient, emergency and community psychiatry. Experience or interest in neuropsychiatry is an asset. Excellent communication and team‑working abilities. Compensation & Benefits Fee‑for‑Service remuneration: $400,000 – $450,000 per annum. MOCAP Level 2 Physician Overhead – no additional overhead cost. Relocation funding: $9,000 – $15,000 (eligible for 1.0 FTE positions). Incentives and benefits subject to change; current rates confirmed at time of offer.
