Job Title: Supply Chain Management

Location: Calgary/ Edmonton, Alberta & North York/ Toronto/Chatham, ON

Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension depends on performance.)


Description:


High Level Description

• Provide support to the SCM Category Management Team for all TIS related activities, including cost reduction and contract management.

• Provide support in all aspects of administration and support duties for the team.


Specific Accountabilities

This position supports Category Management Specialists by ensuring categories are procured in a manner which mitigates risk and provides the highest overall total value to client by:

• Assisting with maintaining company-wide demand profiles and external supply and demand market intelligence (MI) information, including, but not limited to:

o gathering and cleansing spend information;

o collecting and compiling category specific demand forecasts;

o researching and tracking current and emerging market intelligence (trends, indices, cause/effect, etc.);

o analyzing supply markets to establish available (current & future) market capacity and lead times; and

o profiling key supply market competitors;

• Assisting Category Management Specialists with building cost models through tracking value and cost drivers;

• Supporting Category Management Specialists in their development of sourcing strategies, including, but not limited to:

o developing RFX packages;

o compiling proposals; and

o preparing award recommendations;

• Supporting contract utilization by providing effective metrics and reporting;

• Providing analytics support for ongoing management for key agreements under SRM, including, but not limited to:

o developing/tracking key performance indicators (KPIs);

o supporting agreement amendments; and

o supporting SRM meetings; and

• Responding to ad hoc requests for market pricing, economic intelligence, reporting, etc.



Scope/Dimension

• Independently, for standard assignments, and under the guidance of more senior level roles, for more complex issues, responsible for ensuring Category Management Specialists have relevant and accurate data which serves as the foundation for recommendations that impact business decisions.


Contacts/Working Relationships

• Daily interaction with Category Management team members to support initiatives

• Some interaction with internal customers to understand demand requirements


Skills and Abilities

Required:

• University degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field and previous related experience

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

• Sound analytical skills with competency in MS Excel and economic modelling

• Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, to relay basic facts

• Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and conflicting priorities

• Keen interest in understanding economic/market conditions and their impact to our business


Preferred:

• Experience with Oracle, SAP or MS Access

• Enrollment in the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation program or equivalent is an asset
