School District 72 is looking for a temporary 1.0 FTE Alternate Education 9, Writing 9 to 12 teacher to join our team of educators at Carihi Secondary School, who strive to bring the district's learning beliefs to life.
School District 72 (Campbell River) is located on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, extending north to Sayward and south to Oyster River. The district also includes the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra. The district serves over 5,600 students in 18 schools with a diverse range of programs that are progressive and responsive to the educational needs and interests of students.

Bring your Expertise
Relevant university qualifications;
Relevant knowledge of, and experience in, the Alternate Education classroom;
Teaching through a lens of Social & Emotional Learning (SEL);
Ability to adapt and apply differentiated instructional strategies to develop personalized learning experiences;

A comprehensive understanding of current educational practices outlined in the BC Ministry of Education documents;

The starting full-time salary for these teaching positions range from $58,267 and $106,217. Placement on a salary scale is subject to verification of experience and certification and will be done in accordance with the current collective agreement.
