Base Pay Range CA$68,000.00/yr - CA$84,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Engage Recruitment We are seeking a dynamic Intermediate Financial Analyst, FP&A to join our clients' Financial Planning & Analysis team in the insurance industry. The role reports to the Manager, FP&A, and will require roughly once per month in our downtown Toronto office. This is a great opportunity to expand your skillset and deliver actionable insights. Responsibilities Take charge of producing timely and precise management and board reports that drive business performance. Create and deliver regular management reports along with financial analyses that assess performance relative to forecasts, plans, and previous years, aiding in ongoing business performance management. Conduct in-depth financial analyses, such as variance assessments, to identify key drivers and trends, effectively communicating insights to management. Develop and enhance financial models that underpin reporting activities, peer benchmarking, and comply with IFRS17 standards. Collaborate with business line management and actuarial teams to formulate annual budgets, revenue plans, and forecasts. Ensure that business results are comprehensively understood, highlighting their influence on overall financial health and the implications for planning and forecasting. Engage in research and provide expert FP&A support with a focus on developing analytical solutions that align with business strategies, stakeholder needs, and regulatory frameworks. Contribute to enterprise-wide finance initiatives such as ERP transformation and process optimization. Work with various business stakeholders to gather insights and offer relevant financial analysis. Participate in special financial requests and analytical projects as needed. Assist in the timely delivery of external stakeholder reports, including submissions to regulatory bodies and credit agencies. Support business initiatives and process enhancement projects. Execute defined processes and ensure operational controls are adhered to according to departmental guidelines. Continuously improve process documentation to ensure it remains effective and current. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in business is essential, ideally with a focus on Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. 2-3 years of experience in finance or insurance, ideally within FP&A or a comparable analytical role. Progress toward CPA or CFA certification is a plus. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with the capability to handle large datasets and develop intricate financial models. Familiarity with PowerBI or other data visualization tools is advantageous. Previous experience using an ERP system in a finance capacity is beneficial. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present insights clearly. Exceptional organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills, promoting a collaborative team environment. Capacity to think critically, analyze issues, and provide effective solutions. Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships. Discretion and tact when dealing with confidential information.
