Your Role We’re seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to build and maintain our core data platform, which includes data pipelines, machine learning models, and various databases. Combine technical data expertise with strong business intuition to build a foundation of reliable data. What You’ll Own Data infrastructure: build and maintain pipeline orchestration, data warehousing, and machine‑learning services that power our data platform. Data solutions: develop and maintain systems that enable the product to scale with quality. Data governance and quality: uphold best practices ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance across data systems. Cross‑platform data sourcing: surface and integrate data from across our platform to address real business needs in product, engineering, and GTM. Evolving core data models: continuously improve foundational models by incorporating new, high‑value data sources. 30/60/90 Day Plan 30 days : Onboarding, learning the product stack, understanding core data entities, and contributing to core data pipelines with data quality and enrichment layers. 60 days : Work with data scientists to develop datasets and processes that streamline complex workflows; own parts of the data catalog and maintain metrics, dimensions, and lineage; support other teams with regular reporting and analysis. 90 days : Own and automate reporting workflows from ingestion to dashboards; gather stakeholder requirements independently; present findings and recommend data‑driven decisions. Required Experience Translate ambiguous business problems into clear, actionable insights. Hands‑on SQL and Python analysis. Build and maintain data pipelines, warehouses, and infrastructure. Communicate technical insights to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Own analytics solutions, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and business alignment. Experience with Looker, Power BI, or Tableau. Familiarity with structured and unstructured data, including NoSQL databases like MongoDB. Strong grit, curiosity, and impact‑driven mindset. Preferred Experience Hands‑on experience with DBT and Airflow. Experience with SageMaker or an equivalent ML platform. Experience in the workforce development industry. Your Education We focus on continuous learning, problem‑solving, and growth. An alma mater is not required; grit, hunger, and drive are. Location This hybrid role is open to candidates living in Toronto. The office is located at 325 Front St West (short walk from Union Station). The team comes in 1–2 days a week, usually on Wednesdays. Travel up to once per quarter may be expected. Compensation Base salary range: $150,000 – $180,000. The range reflects expertise and responsibilities decided during the interview process.
