We are currently seeking a talented and culinary-focused Development Chef with one of Vancouver’s premiere catering companies. As this organization expands and secures top venues throughout the city, they seek a Chef who will raise the bar for their food offerings, delivering exceptional quality and taste to every event they cater. The successful candidate will be driven to produce the city's best culinary experiences from intimate plated dinners to large weddings and gala’s, cocktail events and everything in between. The Chef will be able to train the team to duplicate the food and experiences for all event types. Costing and building recipes is an essential part of this position to be successful. We are seeking a Chef who can lead and inspire the kitchen brigade with strong communication skills and a passion for food, people and best-in-class experiences.


DESCRIPTION

  • Culinary Team Leadership: Train, guide, and inspire their culinary team, ensuring they can expertly execute your creative visions for each event, consistently delivering unforgettable dining experiences.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in strategic planning, leveraging your culinary expertise to identify emerging trends and opportunities that will set their catering services apart.
  • Training and Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning within the culinary team, helping them refine their skills and stay up-to-date with the latest industry practices.
  • Recipe Creation and Costing: Develop recipes that showcase your culinary prowess while ensuring cost-effectiveness and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Event Participation: Be hands-on in the kitchen and at events, overseeing the execution of your menus to guarantee flawless presentation and taste.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience at the senior level within the culinary industry
  • A proven leader, demonstrating the ability to inspire and guide a team to deliver exceptional results.
  • A passion for food and a creative flair that shines through in every dish you create.
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members, senior leadership, and clients.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, maintaining composure and excellence under any circumstance.
  • Dedication to excellence, always seeking to exceed expectations and raise the bar for culinary experiences.
